Hello Everyone!
As mentioned in our email, last year was certainly a mixed bag of emotions. We are very sad to see some of our longest running strategies close down (Arc) or get pulled by us (Eagle). We are starting the year out full steam for 2015 however, with a re-design on parts of our site, and our FX portfolio.
The headliners to start out are going to be:
Stone (of course)
Kiwi FX
Kaizen FX
Fortress Futures Program.
Combined Performances for all of the FX programs can be found here.
Very shortly we will have a few more accounts coming on board which are going to complete this and make for a very fantastic lineup in 2015.
In addition to this, there are a couple of managed programs that we cannot actively promote on our website, however they are simply to good to not mention and share, so we will be introducing these Managed Accounts to our client base for those looking for diversification outside of our products. We have spent a lot of time analyzing a few of these and have invested ourselves. If it were possible to offer these direct to our clients we certainly would. More to come on this soon.
Institutional Model Drawdown Policy
Drawdowns unfortunately in this business are as inevitable as taxes and death. However it is not quite as gloomy as those two. Our job is to determine a set of drawdown metrics for each strategy, and simply ensure our trade teams stay within those metrics. We leave them to focus on the markets while they are within the confines of their parameters.
In 2015 however, we have also implemented the institutional style of drawdown management, which is fully track-record-centric. This is based on a per-month-basis. Example: if the Max Anticipated Absolute Drawdown is suggested as -10%, then if this level were ever reached in any given calendar month, the positions would be closed down and trading would cease for the remainder of the month, not starting again until the following month. If this happened on day 2, they are done for the month until the following month. This helps manage expectations for everyone, and we fell it will fair out far better than our previous model of just a flat our max equity drawdown. This does vary per program, and it is best to read each program’s specific drawdown management protocol.
We are determined to make 2015 a profitable and memorable year!
